Newt wants an open convention. He knows there is not a chance in the world he will get the nomination but has plans to bring up a person who can rally the republicans and replace Romney. All of his ideas, speeches, etc. are just tests to see what plays well and will work against Obama.

He is playing his role taking all the shots so this person doesn't come in with baggage from the primaries. All the money from GOP pacs will be dumped to this person.

So who is this person, they have to have endorsed Newt and they have to be perceived as a "genuine conservative".

Christie attacked Newt.  Ellis Bush hasn't come out for anybody. 

Bachmann gushed over Newt in 2008 not so much this time but.....

Palin? Cain?

Palin has claimed over and over again she would be the reluctant hero. Both her and Todd endorse him. Newt has said she would play a "major role".

Wonder what ole Tom "the Hammer" Delay is doing these days?
