Sunday March 13th Trump appeared on Face the Nation and after all the ditto talk about anger at rallies he was asked about h1b visas and bankruptcy.
TRUMP: Because I know the game better than anybody, because I have been on the other side. I have built one of the greatest companies.
I did a filing which shows one of the great companies, great assets, very little debt, tremendous cash flow, some of the greatest assets in the world. But let me just tell you, I use the bankruptcy laws just like other very successful people.
I don't won't to use their names, but I could name 10 people right now, the biggest people in all of business. We do it. It's the game we play. We use the laws of the land.
DICKERSON: But why wouldn't people keep playing...
TRUMP: We use it. And that's the way we play the game.
Wait a minute.
As far as the visas are concerned, I'm not doing anything wrong. I think the -- those visas shouldn't be allowed. But they are allowed. They are part of the fabric of what you do. So, I'll use it. I mean, I'm a businessman.
Now that I have turned politician -- I hate to say that, almost, about myself -- but now that I'm running for office, I know the game better than anybody. I'm the one that can fix all of this stuff.
But when you start talking about -- I never went bankrupt. I never went bankrupt. You understand I never went bankrupt. But you take a look at the business leaders. Every once in a while -- I have 500 companies. I have so many different companies. And a very few, I will take advantage of -- frankly, by using the laws of the land, as every other major businessperson does
Trump only does what is best for Trump that is his only principle. He does not believe H1b should be allowed but will use them, which has resulted in a reduction of wages for what were once higher paying jobs. I heard one of his supporters on NPR say he could no longer find a job because of H1B use by companies, a total disconnect.
Notice he said three times he never went bankrupt and claims that all businesses play the game of using the law. That points out a big problem there is no personal responsibility within corporations/businesses. He can screw up all he wants and the only people hurt are the workers and investors. If an average worker declares bankruptcy they usually lose the house and their credit rating is in the toilet for years. Think recession and too big to fail, millions of people lost saving and retirement while CEOs walked away with millions in bonuses. I guess when you are handed millions to start your life you can treat it as a game, in his case the greed game.
to quote Lincoln:
You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time.
I know in at least one case Trump wished for the old times when referring to the removal of a participate at one of his rallies, well in the old days when a businessperson treated enough people as fools and couldn't pay off the debts he was tarred, feathered, and rode out of town on a rail.
